Ashes Divide - The Stone Lyrics

I’ve been pushing stones away
far from these shores
I pretend that it’s all okay
On the brink of what can’t be adored

We survived
well we can change
So let it fade
Just let it go
We pretend so nothing does changed
Flowers never breaking through the stone

I pretend and pray it all away
searching for a place to hide
But I don’t need to pretend memories
to fade
I just wanna feel something real inside

And we survive
Well we can change
So let it fade
Let it go
We pretend so nothing does change
The flowers never breaking through the stone.

I’ve been pushing stones away
far from these shores
I pretend that it’s all okay
So long I can be adored

We survived
well we can change
So let it fade
Just let it go
We pretend so nothing does changed
Flowers never breaking through the stone

It’s “we pretend so nothing does change”, not “has changed”

The seem to be a few mistakes, I may be wrong on a couple, but this is a more correct representation of the lyrics to The Stone…

    I’ve been pushing stones away
    far from these shores
I pretend that it’s all okay
Till on the brink of what can’t be adored
    We survived
    well we can change
    So let it fade
    Just let it go
We pretend so nothing does change
We’re flowers never breaking through the stone
I pretended and prayed it all away
searching for a place to hide
But I don’t need afflicted memories
    to fade
I just wanna feel something real inside
    And we survive
    Well we can change
    So let it fade
    Let it go
We pretend so nothing does change
We’re flowers never breaking through the stone.
    I’ve been pushing stones away
    far from these shores
I pretend that it’s all okay
To no longer bring what can be adored
    We survived
    well we can change
    So let it fade
    Just let it go
We pretend so nothing does change
    We’re flowers never breaking through
    We survived
    well we can change
    So let it fade
    Just let it go
We pretend so nothing does change
We’re flowers never breaking through the stone

  4. HHB Says:

I’ve changed the lyrics, thanks HHB. ;)

These lyrics are awful. What happened to bands that were able to connect a catchy chorus with lyrics that actually meant something? “The flowers never breaking through the stone..”? That’s the kind of abstract imagery that turns up in high school poetry publications…

  7. Jack Says:

I think the lyrics are great…this is a song about people being fake in their lives and making their day feel right by lying to themselves. The flowers never breaking through the stone is imagery. It is saying the stones which represent the lies we create to keep things feeling right in life are keeping the flowers which symbolize true feelings from growing. Much like the world today and how no one uses any common sense anymore it’s just all what the media feeds you for the month. And you are right, this is poetry, and the video would, to me, be considered art. Open your mind up to this band and give them credit for doing a brilliant job on this song and music video.

Great album, got it from Amazon a few days ago.

Got one more correction at the end of the first verse. I think it’s:

“I pretend that it’s all OK
’til on the brink of what can’t be endured.”

Meaning, I pretend everything’s cool until I can’t take it anymore. “Adored” doesn’t sound right to me, but whatev. Great song, regardless of what you’re singing!
